Tiny Pussy, Massive Bush began life as a photograph taken during a beautiful holiday in Malta. One morning, we were woken up by this tiny pussycat meowing across the hostel courtyard, perched next to an enormous Monstera bush. The Tiny Pussy, Massive Bush joke was cracked and immediately became the most suitable name.

Cheeky, mischievous and hilarious; Tiny Pussy, Massive Bush is exactly the kind of humor my mam and I shared. I knew she’d love it, and when I showed her the original photo after my trip, she giggled.
In February, my mam passed away, and whilst off work and grieving,
I decided to turn this photo and some of the memories it holds for me into an oil painting. What began as something playful became much more meaningful as it really helped me process my grief.

Not long after finishing, the painting was accepted into the Newcastle Art Centre Summer Exhibition. Seeing it hanging on a gallery wall was a very proud and surreal moment. I'm still absolutely buzzing about it!
